We collected this UK Home Market Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Automatic 2+2 in the stunning Primrose Hill suburb of North London where its been for the past four years. The cars recent owner moved to the UK just a few years ago and wanted a true British classic for occasional use during the better weather months. However, with some of the summer months spent in his home country, the E-Type has only covered 500 miles over this time. Due to lack of opportunity to really enjoy the car, the decision was made to sell the E-Type after four years of ownership and having viewed the car in North London, we then transported the V12 to Yorkshire.
BHJ 160J is an incredibly well presented, older restoration. From inspection, its seems clear the car was restored in the late 1980's/ early 1990's but would appear to have covered low mileage since. The condition of the bodywork many years on since rebuild is impressive, the bonnet is exceptional and the underside structurally excellent. The paintwork all these years on is very smart with a lovely deep finish, brightwork gleams and the red piped Beige/ Tan interior is very clean, clearly not suffering from serious wear since being re-trimmed. To further support the low mileage since restoration we have MOT certificates confirming just 5000 miles have been covered in the last 26 years which is certainly commensurate with the cars general condition.
A file of maintenance invoices are on file throughout the 2000's but when purchased in 2019 by its recent owner, the E-Type was given to a London garage for a full check over and with no expense spared, treated to a program of work to ensure the car was in strong mechanical order, requiring no major work. Over £20, 000 was spent on brakes, suspension, new wheels, new tyres and essentially any recommendations. With the engine and automatic gearbox in excellent order, no work with the exception of routine servicing was required to the major running gear. As result, the E-Type drives beautifully with a fantastic V12 engine holding correct oil pressure, a lovely smooth BW automatic gearbox and offers a relaxed, comfortable driving experience. With plenty of cabin space, power steering, the relaxed nature of the automatic transmission, full webasto sunroof, this V12 E-Type is an ideal cruiser, perfect for relaxed round town driving as well as long distance touring. It feels the perfect car for relaxed continental touring and without doubt offers excellent value for what is a very well sorted, honest E-Type that has covered very little mileage since a comprehensive restoration.
