To all the watchers and others who might be interested in this Yamaha - advert will remain live until 20th October and, if its not sold by then, it will be removed from sale as I will start 'restoring' it.
Yamaha XS650B 1975/ 76
UK bike (not an import) with twin front discs and lower bars. Registered as an Historic vehicle with the DVLA so no road tax to pay and no MOT needed.
Very original and matching numbers. Still with its original exhaust system.
Original Yamaha key fits ignition, seat and petrol cap locks.
Original takasago wheels.
New seat cover but still with original base.
New tyres and battery.
Sebac rear suspension which is much better than the originals
Comes with its original owners manual and toolkit.
Engine is lovely and transmission is great.
Chromework pretty good with light pitting in places although rear mudguard could probably do with a rechrome as it's become tarnished in places (but still very solid with light pitting).
Would benefit from new starter clutch which I have bought and will go with the bike. Electric starter works fine.
Main task on this Yamaha is to improve the paint and decals on the bodywork. It's just about presentable but decals have faded in places.
Mileage may go up slightly as all my bikes are roadworthy and are used for occasional commuting.
