Essentially an homologation special, Rover introduced the Lotus-developed twin-plenum inlet manifold on the road-going Vitesse in 1985 to keep the factory-supported race cars at the head of the field
The official power output of 190bhp remained unchanged but, in reality, it jumped to between 210 and 220bhp
This rare survivor is presented in Silver Leaf with a grey cloth interior
Owned by Tim Clarke, son of Ken Clarke Motorsport, well-known in the world of SD1 performance development
Recommissioned by them and also fitted with a new tank, high-performance fuel pump and a bespoke stainless exhaust system
Has had the benefit of an XJS front brake conversion, a popular upgrade to the SD1 in period
The car is supplied with a lovely history file with lots of invoices and receipts, including one for a replacement/ rebuilt engine
Guided very sensibly for such a rare and desirable car, and allowing for some minor TLC to take it to the next level
