We are proud to offer this very rare and unique Delage D6 3 liters in our collection. The stylish Delage brand was a producer of very luxurious cars and racing cars and was founded in 1905. After being taken over by Delahaye in 1935, cars were still produced up to and including 1953. This Delage D6 from 1950 is therefore one of the last models of the French car brand. The models of the Delage brand are very scarce these days, but that certainly applies to the very rare D6 3 litres.
The Delage D6 3 liters was a car with unprecedented luxury for that time. The stylish, bespoke body was built by Autobineau in Paris and incorporates several beautiful elements. The coachbuilder's emblem is still present on the doors. Another wonderful tour de force is the electromagnetic Cotal gearbox that is linked to the beautiful sounding 6-cylinder in-line engine.
Thanks to various old documents, the owner's history can be traced in part. The last owner has owned the car since 1998, while the owner previously bought this Delage from Atelier Sontrop in France in 1986. There is also a French registration certificate of presumably the 2nd owner.
This Delage was restored some time ago and is now in a particularly beautiful and authentic condition. Both the paintwork and the interior show a beautiful patina and it gives the car a very original character. The interior is still in very good condition, the headliner is still completely original. The various wood elements are still in good condition. The bodywork is still in good condition. All door parts and hood and boot lid close well. The rubber parts show traces of drought in several places. The chrome work is still in good condition. The paintwork is not perfect, but it can be called very beautiful.
The beautiful sounding 6-cylinder engine block was completely overhauled about 10 years ago. The engine runs very smoothly and the gearbox also shifts very nicely and accurately. The car also sends very nice and comfortable. The brakes also work properly and feel solid.
As far as we know this is currently the only Delage D6 3 liters on offer in the world. It can therefore rightly be called a particularly rare classic.
