Description
1924 Delage DI Series 1 with original beautiful coachwork by Chavet. Left hand drive, owned since 2017 by now deceased family member who bought the car in from Switzerland. Now registered in UK with V5.
The car was running when bought, but needed refreshing in a few areas, including some mechanical and cosmetic detail. This work is almost complete.
A process of light restoration was almost completed when the late owner became ill. The car has been beautifully repainted, has had much mechanical work carried out, including converting the cylinder head to fit twin period (bronze) SU carburettors [original carb included].
The car now needs it’s final assembly and the seats trimming. All parts and even the leather is with the car and ready to fit.
An easy project to finish.
Mechanical works – Engine, chassis and running gear all look to be completed.
Brightwork – Everything looks to have been re-nickel plated to a high standard and most parts have been re-fitted to the car.
Bodywork – The main body has been repainted to a high standard. New wings have been made and these will need final fettling, painting and fitting .
Interior – Dashboard:- most items fitted, those that aren’t are in the car. Carpets and trim – New carpets and new door cards and side panels trimmed and fitted to a high standard. Seats – these will need making (the bases are there) and trimming…There are three large leather hides of excellent quality with the car.
Hood, side screens etc – There is a hood frame with the car, not in the best condition, but would definitely be suitable for a pattern or possibly repair.
