At 48k I gave the car a thorough and careful service using Shell Helix Ultra 0-30, Volvo oil / air filters, NGK Iridium spark plugs & Mann carbon cabin filter. The excellent Shell oil had a deep cleansing effect on the engine so I renewed the Shell oil and filter at 50k.
Volvo front brake discs and pads fitted at 50k. Transmission oil drain and refill by Volvo specialist at 51k.
The car presently shows 33. 5mpg and has shown 34mpg on a motorway cruise.
Both keys, all books and a folder of invoices dating back to 2013.
The auxiliary belt, tensioner and idler roller have now been renewed by Volvo at 53, 283 miles, as a precautionary measure and in line with Volvo recommendations.
The mileage will increase steadily as I use the car at least once a week to keep it healthy.
I haven't driven an Aston Martin Rapide, however I imagine that this Volvo provides a similar driving experience at significantly less cost and probably with better build quality.
