Description
This stunning XK was manufactured in December 1952 as an LHD and exported to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, there even is a Heritage certificate to confirm that. It was bought in 2014 by a private collector who then spent the next seven years restoring the car alongside a fleet of other cars and various projects.
The benefit of buying a car from Brazil, was virtually no rust damage. However, the current owner stripped everything back to bare metal then repainted, re bushed and rebuilt all of the suspension with new shock absorbers. A rebuilt engine was bought and a close ratio gearbox was sourced from the US and rebuilt along with a rear axle, new wheels, hubs, high power electronic ignition, refurbished radiator, new alloy petrol tank and pipes for petrol and brakes.
The body was resprayed in a dark metallic blue and refitted to the chassis and rewired with a new loom and new interior. We supplied the car to its current owner in 2021 who has since spent over £5, 000 with XK guru Guy Broad in Coventry on the brakes, suspension and general setup. The car has just been set up and tuned by Sigma Engineering in Gillingham
This tastefully modified, fantastic example is on the button and looking for a new owner to enjoy. The car has been correctly UK registered and sports an age appropriate plate.
