In May last year I reached retirement age so I decided to finish my Triumph Gt6 for myself. After years of restoring classic cars for a living. My previous work can be seen on my face book page, Crofton motors Classic car restoration in the Scottish borders.
I have not built the car to be a concours car but one I wanted to use.
Here is a list of works carried out
Chassis..
New front cross member, Hinge boxes, Outriggers,
Body..
New floor pans, new rear wings, all new inner and outer sills, new boot floor, repair panels to the rear quarters, heel board and rear cross member, lower A panel repairs, bonnet front cross member, both head lamp mounting panels, both front quarter valance replaced. This is not an exhaustive list of body repairs.
Engine.
Engine was stripped and refurbished, unleaded head, crankshaft polished and new shells fitted. new timing chain and tensioner, new water pump, all new seals,
Gear box with over drive was I gather refurbished by the previous owner. I could see a new over drive solenoid fitted, Clutch was like new, fitted a new slave cylinder. master cylinder refurbished.
Running gear has all been refurbished, New front uprights and trunnion-less bearings. new front springs and coil over shock absorbers. adjustable rear shock absorbers. All bushes are now poly bushes.
All universal joints have been replaced within drive shafts and prop shaft. Rear spring has been refurbished.
Brake system has been serviced and refurbished. New piston and seals to the calipers, new rear wheel cylinders, new brake pads and shoes, new seals to the master cylinder.
Interior has been refurbished new vinyl coverings, new carpet set, new head ling, the only things that are original are the seats.
New tyres on 5. 5 wheels.
The car is located near Coldstream in the Scottish borders.
I am open to reasonable offers. The car came to me 5 years ago for a full restoration from a collector in Coventry. But the customer was taken ill and the project did not get started so I purchased the car and I have progressively restored the car
The car was painted black when it came it was fully shot blasted and is now painted in the color it came out of the factory in my opinion one of the better colors Magneta
