1929 Alvis 12/ 50 TG Two seat Tourer with Dickey
The Alvis company was founded in 1919 by T G John with motor car production commencing the following year with the ?10/ 30? model and followed by the 11/ 40 and 12/ 40 models. However, 1923 to see the launch of what was to become the model that established Alvis as a manufacturer of high-quality sporting cars - the immortal 12/ 50.
The 12/ 50 was to enjoy great success, its 1. 5 litre OHV engine being tough and reliable and more than proving its worth in competition.
The car we offer here is a 12/ 50 TG Two Seat Tourer with Dickey seat - a popular style of coachwork that was offered by a number of manufacturers during the 1920?s and early ?30?s.
First registered in East Sussex during April 1929, the car was in long term ownership and was restored to a very good standard some years ago. Of very smart appearance, the Alvis has full weather equipment and drives well. Benefiting from excellent spares availability and ease of maintenance, the 12/ 50 remains one of the most popular and revered of all Vintage cars.
