The Fulvia Coupé debuted in the spring of 1965, achieving immediate commercial success thanks to its well-designed line, brilliant performance at a reasonable price compared to its class, and performance. The specialized press praised every aspect of it. With sales soaring, the Fulvia Coupé became a ?must-have? for young and sporty clientele. At one point, its exceptional chassis qualities pushed for more power. The response came swiftly in the form of the Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1. 3. It debuted in 1967, with its engine capacity increased from 1, 216 cc to 1, 298 cc, equipped with two Solex C 35 PHH carburetors instead of the previous Solex C 32 PHH.
In 1968, the Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1. 3 was joined by the Rallye 1. 3 S, which eventually replaced it entirely in customer preferences. Externally almost unchanged, the 1. 3 S became more powerful (91 hp) with a compression ratio increased from 9:1 to 9. 5:1, new carburetor settings, and the maximum rotation speed raised from 6000 to 6200 rpm. The maximum torque also increased from 12. 3 to 13. 2 kgm at 4500 rpm. The top speed rose to 173 km/ h. Considering the enhanced performance, the manufacturer added an oil radiator and vacuum-assisted brake servo with a rear wheel braking limiter. Among the aesthetic changes, the most significant involved adjustable windows (previously fixed), wheel caps with the raised Lancia emblem, and anti-glare windshield wipers. Perhaps to promote special colors, at the start of ?S? production, the company offered a special limited series of about 200 metallic-colored cars with wheels painted in the same color as the body.
The car we are presenting is exactly one of the 200 produced in a special series with metallic coloring (Bleu Jamaica). Only 63 cars were produced in this color, and in Italy, only 2 are registered with the Lancia Registry. This vehicle, in excellent condition, underwent a conservative restoration, having had only 2 owners. It comes with original plates, the logbook, and extensive historical documentation.
