This Land Rover is a really rare beast!
Not only is it Left Hand Drive, it is one of only a few hundred models to be made for the Benelux Countries with Bug Eye headlamps!
Regulations governing headlamp positions changed in the Benelux countries ( Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) at the start of 1969. The traditional Land Rover headlamp position in the grille panel was no longer legal and so, for a few months in early 1969, Series IIAs for these countries had their headlamps mounted on the front wings.
Imported to Belgium by Beherman Domoen as evidenced by the plaque on the dashboard.
Chassis number 26413907G makes it a LHD 109" 2. 25 petrol. Bronze Green originally.
It comes with a folder of old receipts and copies of old log books etc
Little is known of its early life.
It ended up in France before coming to England
It was registered in England in 2015 as MFX 642G.
V5 document present and ready to go in the new owners name.
It was last MOTd in 2015 and has been off the road for many years.
The chassis will go again and looks solid with a fairly recent rear crossmember.
the bulkhead will repair with some welding work but is very original.
The engine is an army reconditioned unit that has good compression and turns over well.
It will of course need all the brakes and hydraulics gone through.
This is a really nice restoration project to get stuck into.
