Our Land Rover Series IIA 109, first registered on 10 May 1971, now shows 26, 345 km. Of uncertain origin, this example is registered in France. Finished in LRC004 – Sand, paired with a TRIM 351 – Deluxe Black Vinyl interior, this Series IIA offers an iconic specification true to the Land Rover spirit. The bodywork has undergone a full restoration, including thorough work with shot blasting and epoxy paint. Overall condition is very good, as is the cabin, which has been entirely refurbished. The instruments are working correctly. Powered by the 89 bhp petrol six-cylinder engine, mated to a manual gearbox, this Land Rover is currently being run in following its complete mechanical restoration. The engine has been rebuilt from new and the chassis is original. The mechanicals are sound and have been maintained by JP Land, a well-regarded specialist of the marque. The latest work carried out: - Full “frame-off” restoration – JP Land, specialist. Consumables are in good overall condition. Several modifications have been made to enhance its vintage character: - “Pre-68” grille fitted - Chrome mirrors replacing the original black ones - Steering wheel centre cap repainted in period style. The following have been replaced or restored: - Seats re-trimmed in vinyl (Exmoor Trim) - New classic cotton canvas hood - Full bodywork restoration. Adjustments to be made before sale by the specialist: - Handbrake adjustment - Restored heating system installation - Electrical check (indicators) - Steering play adjustment - Possibility of fitting rear bench seats. No major expense is expected following these operations.
