It starts instantly and runs well, drives effortlessly pulling strongly through all the gears, great clutch with no slip or judder, it does not jump out of first gear and it stops in a straight line with no pulling or veering (again please see the video we spend over four minutes touring the underside), handbrake is good, lights wipers, wind down windows, quarter lights, door catches and locks all work as intended. There is no breathing from the oil filer cap and no spitting from the dipstick when running, all in all it drives really well.
Inside is finished in a matching blue the carpets are good and the headlining, door cards and rear panels are all very presentable, it has the glove box lid and a working heater fitted. Currently showing 34736 miles, we cannot confirm these as correct, the car was extensively restored some years ago and there are many pics showing the extensive works completed in the history file. The tyres are a matching set all with ample tread and there’s a good spare and a selection of tools in the boot.
The car is HPI clear, we have the full current logbook and some older logbooks, an owner’s manual, a large number of invoices including one for an unleaded conversion and many old MOT’s all in a chunky history file. The car is MOT exempt and the road tax is free, despite this it has current MOT until 26th September which shows no advisories, classic insurance should be a round £100 for most drivers over 25, parts are readily available and there are a multitude of clubs, rallies, regional groups and national for these charming little cars.
The paintwork is presentable and would be well received anywhere but it’s not perfect, imperfections will be found on close inspection, collected during storage and use not from corrosion. Bright work is all good, not new and slightly aged but all perfectly fine, the headlining needs a good clean but it’s all intact and rip free. All very solid underneath, see the pics, had the inevitable repairs over the years but its good enough for the MOT who passed it with no advisories.
