The Appeal
The Morris Traveller is one of the most recognisable and cherished variants of the Minor family. Its distinctive half-timbered rear bodywork and practical estate layout have earned it an enduring following, and for many it's a particularly charming bit of old-fashioned British milieu that's still remarkably endearing.
This 1971 example was purchased from Matthewsons auction as a project in 2022 and has since undergone a full, photographed, comprehensive three-year rebuild, completed in 2025. Stripped back to the bare chassis, it has been rebuilt from the ground up with a fully reconditioned engine by Drakes of Bradford evidenced by the invoices, full section repair panels to the floor, and a comprehensive repair or replace programme to doors, wings etc, along with this most other components have been replaced or restored where applicable, including New or re chromed brightwork.
The bodywork after restoration, which includes a New Ash frame has been treated to a bare metal respray, in Oxford Blue cellulose. The interior has also been completely replaced. Approximately 200 miles covered since completion, the car presents very well indeed - a gleaming example that's ready and waiting for auction.
