Description
This beautifully presented home market UK E-Type was manufactured on the 17th June 1965 and was supplied new finished in Carmen Red with Black upholstery. This highly desirable Series One 4. 2 Roadster was distributed by Henlys London and has been with its recent owners for over 20 years.
In 2003 the E-Type was taken to highly regarded West Yorkshire based Jaguar E-Type restorers Hutson Motor Company for a complete, full restoration. Receipts are on file for thousands of pounds worth of new parts, full engine rebuild and mechanical overhaul. The E-Type bodyshell was stripped down, shot blasted, restored and re-painted, brightwork renewed and the car re-trimmed. Since the rebuild, the E-Type has covered almost 5000 miles.
For the majority of the last 19 years the E-Type has been in professional dry storage. The rebuild was completed in 2005 and up to 2011 the car covered 2500 miles. It was then subject to a major service with the restorers Hutson Motor Company. At 3500 miles in 2013 the E-Type was again serviced by the restorers, it came out of storage in 2017 for an MOT (3757 miles) and in 2019 another major service was carried that included further maintenance to include new radius arm bushes, gearbox mounting rubbers, diff pinion oil seal, drive shaft inner oil seal, new axle cover gasket, a new propshaft, new hose set and new brake pads.
CAA 210C has come to us out of storage and will be fully serviced and prepared for its next owner. We have a light program of work to carry out, along with some minor cosmetic improvements to ensure the E-Type presents in first class condition. This is a beautiful looking car, it presents superbly with excellent chrome wires, mohair hood and the engine bay is well presented, as the body coloured underside. Although not a matching numbers car (replacement, rebuilt Jaguar 4. 2 engine fitted), the car does appear very correct in factory colours and offers excellent value as a rare home market Series One 4. 2 Roadster that is superb on the road and still feels incredibly fit having only covered 5000 miles since its full restoration with a Jaguar specialist.
