It’s not often something like this comes to the market. As most people will know these convertibles were never produced by the factory and to my knowledge there was only one prototype built unless anybody knows different
This car was converted to a very high standard in the late 90s. It has all the correct bracing that it would require and has a purpose built hood frame with mohair hood. The v5 states it as a convertible.
The entire build has been documented in a hardback photo album. On completion in 1999 the owner entered it in the msa euroclassic series and successfully completed a tour of Europe in it. He did this annually until 2013. It was also a regular at the nec classic car show
It looks stunning with the roof down. The bodywork is lovely and straight and finished with nice chrome work. The interior again is lovely in black leather. The seats are from a Volvo and the fronts tilt forward to one side to allow access to the rear seats
There are rear seat belts fitted, electronic ignition, kenlowe fan, electric fuel pump and it benefits from power steering
I have been out on road test today and it is a pleasure to drive with the v8 sounding as it should.
