If you were thinking of the S-Type Jaguar as just a face-lifted 3. 8ltr Mark 2, then you got that wrong as this is an entirely different automobile – a sports limousine.
The S-Type is a car, that was produced by Jaguar Cars in the United Kingdom from 1963 to 1968.
It was a technically more sophisticated development of the Jaguar Mark 2, offering buyers a more luxurious alternative to the Mark 2 but without the size and expense of the Mark X.
The S-Type sold alongside the Mark 2, as well as the Jaguar 420 following its release in 1966.
The original Jaguar 'S'-type attracts a small but dedicated group of owners who appreciate the style of this luxurious compact saloon.
The 'S'-type is slowly gaining recognition throughout the Jaguar world, as more fully restored cars appear at various events and people recognise their worth.
