Description
- Built by Racing Green Engineering in 2018, this Bentley Special “Old No. 1” pays homage to the original 1929 factory race car.
- Finished in this gorgeous shade of dark blue and now UK-registered, it’s ready for rallies, road trips, or simply weekend drives to the pub.
- The car is based on a 1948 Bentley Mk VI chassis and powered by Bentley’s 5. 7L straight-8 B80 engine – which really does sound the absolute business!
- The externally operated 4-speed Bentley gearbox is remarkably user-friendly and is geared such that the car is more than happy to cruise at 80mph all day long.
- After acquiring the car in 2018, the current owner embarked on a number of long-distance European road trips, including a couple of return visit to Monaco, as well as participating in some historic regularity rallies (e. g. 2019 Flying Scotsman).
- What’s more, the owner commissioned Racing Green to carry out some upgrades to improve comfort and practicality:
- Heated Seats (very effective!)
- Footwell Heater Blowers
- Discreet Reversing Camera
- Multiple USB Sockets
- High-Spec Monit GPS System
- Long-range Fuel Tank
- This really is quite a remarkable piece of engineering, and frankly impossible not to love from behind the wheel.
