A rare early example of this iconic British family saloon. Garaged for the past 24 years and with plenty of documentation to back up its meagre mileage of just 45, 000 covered in 63 years! Incredibly original in so many ways. Starts and runs, selecting gears fine. Solid underneath with good chassis. Original transferable registration too.
She has a pleasant and tidy interior including that famous wooden dash. Since emerging from hibernation she has been treated to new clutch master and slave cylinders as well as a brake master. Other brake parts come with the car as do the original wheels which probably deserve to have new tyres and returning to the vehicle. A rear side window is missing thanks to a garage accident when the glass had an argument with the handlebars of a child's bike. Rubber seal good and Herald glass easily sourced. You will be on the road in no time with this gem of a time warp. So nice to come across such an un-molested early Herald with such low miles and excellent history! Obviously, surface rust, touch ups etc on this project. Fairly straight forward for happy tinkerers!
And probably a lot more solid and original than many of you may be imagining. Lift the original (worn but clearly the original) carpets, and you will see the floor pans gleaming back at you, untouched and in original factory grey paint. Don't be discouraged by any of its cosmetic body areas as everything you see there is simple prep work for painting.
