Model history:
The Mercedes 190SL is the little sister of the Mercedes 300SL; they are the early models of the mythical SL roadster line (SL stands for "Sport Light").
First shown in New York at the International Auto Show on 6 February 1954, then in March 1955 at the Geneva Motor Show, it was produced at the Sindelfingen plant on the same production line as the 300SL.
The 190SL was then fitted with a 4‑cylinder 1, 897 cc engine and two Weber carburettors, delivering 105 bhp. In February 1963, the last model rolled off the line after 25, 881 examples.

Newly sold in 1957, we have traceable history in France since 1997.
Always perfectly maintained, it has its magnificent original leather interior and its hard top. Tracked in our workshops for almost 20 years!
Bodywork:
Extremely sound and 100% original bodyshell, it has perfectly aligned doors and bonnet/ boot lids. It is probably still in original paint; only the passenger door has been repainted.
Interior:
Its red leather upholstery is in perfect condition. It is one of the few 100% original cars, meticulously maintained over the last 66 years. It left the factory with three rare options: its hard top (also original), the third seat, and the Becker radio, still present.
Engine:
Regularly serviced in our workshops since 2004, its mechanics are very healthy with excellent oil pressure.
Gearbox:
Shifts are smooth and gears engage perfectly.
Suspension:
Rear axle is stable, excellent on-the-road feel. Chassis behaviour is perfect. No play or noise detected. Originally equipped with telescopic dampers at the front and trailing-arm dampers at the rear.
Brakes:
Braking is perfect and tracks straight with its original drums completely overhauled.
