Model History: The Mercedes 190SL is the little sister of the Mercedes 300SL, the first models in the legendary SL roadster series (SL stands for "Sport Light"). Presented in New York at the "International Motor Show" on 6 February 1954 and then in March 1955 at the Geneva Motor Show, it was produced in the Sindelfingen factory on the same assembly line as the 300SL. The 190SL was then fitted with a 4-cylinder 1, 897 cm3 engine and two WEBER carburettors, developing 105 bhp. In February 1963, the last model left the factory after 25, 881 examples. History of this Mercedes 190SL: Sold new in 1957, we have been able to trace its history in France since 1997. Always perfectly maintained, it has its magnificent original leather interior and hard-top. Followed in our workshops for nearly 20 years! Body: Extremely sound and 100% original bodywork, it has perfect door and bonnet days. It probably still has its original paintwork, only the passenger door has just been repainted. Upholstery: The red leather upholstery is in perfect condition. This is one of the few 100% original cars, carefully maintained over the last 66 years. It left the factory with three rare options: its hard-top (also original), the third seat and the Becker radio, which is still fitted. Engine: Regularly serviced in our workshops since 2004, its mechanics are very sound with excellent oil pressure. Gearbox: Smooth running and the gears shift perfectly. Running gear: The rear axle is stable and holds the road very well. The chassis behaves perfectly. There is no noticeable play or noise. Fitted as standard with telescopic shock absorbers at the front and wishbone shock absorbers at the rear.
