A very rare and beautiful Mini Cooper Carbu prepared for a regularity rally. This exceptional vehicle was fully restored after its purchase over a period of approximately 3 years, both in terms of bodywork and mechanics. It was then taken to court to keep it in perfect condition. The engine has been rebuilt (at around 100, 000kms) and upgraded to stage 2 (light cylinder head surfacing for more compression - SW5 camshaft - reinforced clutch - rich needle carburettor with improved air filter - specific pipe and manifold), offering enhanced performance and a dynamic drive with more torque. The running gear and shock absorbers have been carefully adjusted to ensure optimum roadholding, while the stainless steel line ensures impeccable sound and durability. The High-Low kit (body height adjustment) and specific equipment for regularity rallying (trip master / big digit chrono, map readers), complete this meticulous preparation. The vehicle's interior has also been improved to offer extra comfort and safety. Period bucket seats and harnesses add an authentic touch, while the 3-point roll bar (from the 1960s) guarantees optimum protection (at the time) during competitions. A set of snow tyres, two studded tyres and a mini bridge (for working on the running gear or under the car) complete the equipment, along with specific documentation (manuals / restoration file / history / technical inspections).
This Mini Cooper Carbu is a real gem for enthusiasts of classic car touring and/ or regularity rallies, combining vintage looks and performance. This Cooper was only used for local rallies over ten years ago, and then for touring. Sold for health reasons.
