The Cooper S 1275 was an undisputed rally icon in the 1960s, winning numerous victories at Monte Carlo and other major competitions. However, after 1967, with the abandonment of compensation in the regulations, more powerful cars such as the Porsche 911, Ford Escort, Alpine and Fulvia were favoured, marking the end of an era.
