Description
The Jaguar XJS produced between 1975 and 1996 is the epitome of the luxury grand tourer. The original V12 delivered an outstanding performance but its thirst for petrol was legendary. Jaguar introduced the 3. 6 XJS with AJ6 engine in 1984 and capacity was of this unit was increased to 4. 0 litres in 1991.
Milestone Classics are delighted to market our second XJS this month – this time a later car in the final incarnation with 4. 0 litre AJ6 engine and redesigned rear side windows/ trim, bumpers and dashboard instrumentation.
Our Jaguar is finished in the stunning combination of Jade Green with matching interior and has been owned since 2014 by a local enthusiast who has cherished the car regardless of cost and only driven 10, 000 miles (total mileage 74k) in her.
Recent work Includes:
· Pirelli P600 Tyres (£1, 400)
· Steering rack, anti-roll bar bushes, front subframe mountings, front brake callipers (£2, 000)
· Rear brake service & new headlining (£2, 400)
· New front subframe (£1, 500)
The history fold contains all old MOT’s and the service book has 23 service stamps that warrants the mileage.
On the road the car drives exactly as, you would expect – silk smooth acceleration, seamless gear changes, sharp brakes, and a level of comfort that many modern cars can only aspire too.
The XJS is one of the most competent classic cars available today – finding a well-cared for, low mileage example is exceedingly difficult. Most have not been service regularly or properly (specifically rear brakes & front subframe) and suffer from tired interiors/ bodywork.
Prices of XJS’s have risen sharply in recent years and we urge an early viewing in order to fully appreciate this stunning car.
