Just arrived at South Norfolk Classics
1927 Austin 7 Special, open top with the early Magneto engine mated to a 3 speed dog leg gearbox.
This work of art looks amazing and you can imagine it in days gone by racing around Brooklands or Goodwood.
Like many Austin Sevens this has obviously been re- bodied as an open top sports convertible.
This car does not have a soft top or doors and no windscreen and instead comes with a full tonneau cover and twin Brooklands aero screens.
Recent work includes overhauled brakes with green gripper brake shoes, the Austin has split brakes with the brake pedal operating the rear brakes and the handbrake operates the front brakes.
Recently fitted new set of Longstone tyres and a recent oil service and a new 6v battery.
New led lights and indicators and a new David Dye cylinder head.
Still retains its original transferable number plate.
Please remember that this is a ninety eight ( yes 98 year old ) car
It will not drive like your BMW or Audi, it is slow, the brakes work and stop the car but obviously they are of a vintage design !
Yes it will drop a little oil but it’s an antique and two years off 100 years of age so it’s entitled to !
The pedals are close together so unless you are used to Austin Sevens it will take some getting used to but when you are used to it the car will leave you smiling indefinitely.
I am 6ft 1 and 17. 5 stone and can drive this car but obviously better suited for smaller people.
