What surely must be one of the most recognised cars of the 1960s and like the E type captured such beautiful lines from any angle, some would say has never been improved on to this day it certainly set the standard way back then and is still highly prized by enthusiast. Naturally the one to have has to be the 3. 8 manual overdrive - it offered 125mph and 0-60 in 8. 5 seconds in the 1960s quite impressive even by todays standards.
Gleaming in the sunshine this afternoon while we were taking the photos- the high gloss black paint reflecting against the stunning chrome looked absolutely drop dead gorgeous. The car has been the pride of ownership by the last owner since receiving a full restoration by lane cars in 2009, and more recent additions have been the fitting of power steering, Thatcham alarm, and electronic ignition.
The quality of the work carried out is reflected in the fact that the car was selected for display at Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and has since been asked back for other occasions.
Vast amount of invoices accompany the car along with British Heritage cert showing the car as supplied by Henlys London Feb 1963. Extremely well maintained by the last owners garage as shown by the service history folder, and on my 20 mile test run today an absolute joy to drive .
