Very Original with 1 Owner from new. 1959 Model first registered 27th November 1959. Chassis Number 203.
We have on offer a truly remarkable vehicle. Very original example. The vehicle has been with the one and only owner in Pembrokeshire South Wales, immaculate rust free condition. 7, 000 Miles on the clock but it has been round the clock once so is 107, 000 Miles but this is all verified by the mots. Not bad for a 65 year old vehicle.
The extensive recommissioning work as been done in house by ourselves. This included a major brake system overhauled, new shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake pipes, fresh fuel, couple of minor electrical issues. New starter motor.
The bodywork is all original and you can see from the pictures its evenly worn in the way that only steady use over a long period can do. There is some significant damage to the drivers side rear quarter panel. This only adds to the vehicles character.
The canvas hood is a new replacement that is in good condition, the vehicle was always kept inside. With the original truck cab, and original standard Land Rover wheel with 7. 50 x 16 tyres.
The Land Rover is in one of the most classic colour combinations bronze green with matching body colour wheels. A majority or the original paint remains, the drivers side outer wing has been replaced and painted a different shade but we have the original damaged part to go with the car.
The bodywork is good with the exception of a very few dents and scraps. Which adds to the character of the vehicle.
The interior has original grey elephant hide seats backs and centre seat base the drivers and passenger base have been recovered. The vehicle even has it's original pressed footwells. The chassis is very good and hasn't even had a rear crossmember, every nut and bolt came apart so easily, this is due to the dry storage the vehicle has always had.
The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use. A matching pair of rear bench seats can be fitted if required.
One of the best original engine bays we have seen on a Series 2, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The diesel engine once given heat starts up and runs very well with plenty of power. The engine has been fully serviced by ourselves.
It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had. It really is a credit to the previous owners work and maintenance over the years that the vehicle is still present in the such great usable condition. Lots of invoices and old mots, tax discs come with the vehicle.
A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will be supplied with a full 12 month mot should the buyer wish. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. It will be supplied fully serviced including engine, oil filter, main gearbox, transfer box, diffs and the swivels. The vehicle comes with it's original registration number.
Almost all Series Land Rovers we have had drip a little oil, this is an exception though no drips of oil to speak of even after standing for days in the same place. The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do.
This is a very honest Series Land Rover. You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle.
Anything on this Land Rover that required attention has been done it is now faultless.
