L'Atelier des 1000 is offering this superb Land Rover 88 Series II for pre-order today, presented before its restoration is finished, in a particularly desirable specification: Mid Grey paintwork with a bordeaux canvas tilt and bordeaux wheels, paired with brown genuine leather upholstery. Distinctive features of the Series II and IIa are the headlamps mounted either side of the grille and the sheet-metal dashboard, which make this one of the most sought-after versions among Land Rover enthusiasts. This Land Rover will soon be ready to hit the road or tackle the trails in the best possible condition, true to the spirit of adventure that built the marque's legend. Our example is a 1958 model, pre-1960, and is therefore not subject to a contrôle technique. Restored from bare chassis in our workshops, this car has had nearly 250 hours of mechanical and bodywork labour, offering you a well-finished vehicle in an unusual specification. It is available to pre-order now at €48, 990. If it is not reserved by then, it will be offered for sale at €54, 990 once the work is complete. To finish the restoration of this Series II, we still need to complete the engine, brakes and electrics. All the new parts have been received, including a modern cotton-braided wiring loom. The loom will be opened and its internal components checked, fully sealed, and its peripheral components replaced, including the fitting of a stainless steel radiator. The entire electrical system will be redone from scratch, and the ignition system has been fully replaced and converted to electronic ignition for more reliable running. The front swivel pins, hubs and leaf springs are new, and all brackets and running gear have been repainted. The four bordeaux wheels have just come out of paint and add an elegant touch to the specification, although the wheel colour is open to choice. The chassis has been checked and repainted, while the body has been fully stripped before receiving a complete paint job. All exterior brightwork has been media blasted and then hot-dip galvanised to original specification. A roll bar and a new bordeaux canvas tilt have been fitted. A tropical hardwood floor has been made for the rear load bed. The upholstery, made to measure in genuine leather, gives the cabin a particularly neat finish and a smart, high-end presentation. The package is completed by a bespoke Marshall speaker mount, ideal for enjoying music on your journeys. This Land Rover offers the rare opportunity to own a restored vehicle with a tidy and original presentation. Drawing on our expertise with Land Rovers, and to the future buyer's specification, we can also fit, as optional extras, power steering, an additional cooling fan, a wooden steering wheel, carpets and other options of your choice. Part-exchange considered. MOT equivalent (contrôle technique): OK. Delivery possible across Europe. Warranty up to 36 months. French registration, with possible transfer to collectors' vehicle status. L'Atelier des 1000 specialises in buying and selling sports cars and European classics.
