About this car
The Pininfarina redesign of the classic Alfa Romeo Spider featured a new wind tunnel shaped front end, with all new bumpers, side skirts and a smoothly tapered rear to produce a sleek modern classic. Our series 4 car was first registered on 22. 08. 1991 finished in Alfa red with Textalfa beige trim. It is an original UK delivery car and as such was converted from new to RHD configuration by Seaking, the official importer’s authorised agent.
This is a 4 owner car, the previous owner having it for 21 years, who did very little mileage in his Alfa but kept it dry stored. There is a fully detailed service history with the car prior to his ownership, it being looked after by supplying dealer Lombarda Carriage Company with a raft of service invoices in the file.
The recorded mileage of 89000 klms (so 55000 miles) is warranted as genuine from new.
Unlike some examples of these cars, this one has obviously been carefully used and cherished with no rust or accident damage and what appears to be the majority of its factory paint still applied.
We are currently re-commissioning the car with a lot of new mechanical work and it will be ready mid June.
Bodywork
You are encouraged to look at the amazing factory finish still visible on this example, it appears to have never been wet and is spotlessly clean chassis-wise.
The body has excellent panel fitment and zero rust issue. Paint depth readings suggest the majority of the paint is the original finish. There are a few lacquer peel areas to the mirrors and bonnet but these will be rectified prior to delivery.
Mechanicals
Our car drives tightly and rattle free consistent with the low mileage. Being an S4 model, it benefits from the bigger fuel injected 2 litre motor and lovely ZF power steering, making it easy to live with. Just fitted with 4 x new Continental Ultracontact tyres, new engine oil and filters, new spark plugs, new exhaust system, new clutch and brake hydraulic pipes, new crossover pipe and other works. It will be sold with a new MOT.
Interior
This shows careful ownership. The seating, carpets and door cards are original and are in very good condition, ditto the uncracked dashtop; all the instrumentation works and our car is fitted with the original unfaded hood and colour coded hood bag.
Boot
In lovely order with spare and jack in place.
Summary
This last iteration of the 105 series Spider makes a great usable modern classic with electric windows, easy to use flush fitting manual hood, power steering and hassle free fuel injection. Ours is supplied with a sales brochure, owner’s manual, workshop manual and history file, and NO RUST!
