A 1952 Daimler DB18 Special Sports (lot 2905)
Reg No. AVM236
Chassis No. 59225
Engine No. 46226
Black/ Green Tan interior.
Daimler produced no more than 500 DB18 Special Sports between 1948 and 1952, they were coach built bodied by Barkers who were also owned by Daimler’s parent company BSA. The 6 cylinder 2522cc OHV engine produced 85BHP was mated to a Pre-selector Wilson gearbox which utilised a Daimler fluid flywheel.
This car has a late chassis, the vehicle being first registered 20th June 1952. It is understood to have had few owners, unfortunately, the car was stored by a previous owner for many years under a tarpaulin in the open resulting in the roof, interior and woodwork deteriorating. Our vendor rescued the car in 2020 and has had corrosion repaired with new metal and the car repainted. The engine and transmission work as intended but further fettling will be required. This rare Daimler could quickly be returned to the road as is or further restored.
Lacy Scott & Knight are pleased to offer this vehicle for sale by auction on Saturday 14th June.
All lots in this sale are sold as seen, bidders must preferably view the vehicles. Please see our website for more photos, viewing details, and all terms & conditions. For more information please contact our saleroom.
