I’ve a few project machines at the moment, and rather than wait for the darker months to advertise them, I thought I’d give them a whirl.
The first is a 1992 R100 RS. It’s current ownership is over 25 years, but has been garaged, unused, for some years now. On initial inspection, there was an issue with the ignition, and with a replacement “bean can”, amplifier, a new battery, and of course some fresh fuel, she burst straight into life. Obviously the reason why she’d lain unused for so long. The auxiliary clock in the dash has gone missing, as has the fuel cap lock / barrel, but the motor is whisper quiet, she’s charging well, and all of the electrics work as they should. Compressions are good and even.
Mileage appears high at 98K, but the mot history shows a used set of clocks, with higher mileage, being fitted back the 90’s, so actual mileage is a sensible 55k. Also HPI clear of accidents / insurance claims.
All in all, a VERY sound basis for a light re commissioning, or a custom project. Even at this price, I’ll consider YOUR Airhead in part exchange, cash either way. Offers considered.
