Lotus Elan Sprint - DBP 877L

A low mileage genuine Type 45 car that has been restored to a very high standard, whilst retaining a great deal of originality.

The build date is April 1972, but it was registered in 1973.

Thousands spent over the years on the body and what is still the original engine.

An engine rebuild is recorded in the extensive history file. MOT's back up the original low mileage of 65, 720 miles.

Repainted in its original colour, the panel fit on the car is excellent, and not your average example of an Elan.

No sticking out doors or uneven gaps. The paintwork is to a very high standard, with no cracking, crazing, or micro-blistering evident.

The interior is original, with an excellent original finish and dash. The signed steering wheel is perfect, as are the original seats and door cards. Engine compartment is nicely detailed and clean. The rare original jack and handle is present, as is a genuine factory workshop manual.

Subtle upgrades, with a Kenlowe fan and aluminium radiator, stainless exhaust system, and high torque starter.

A new original spec hood (from Sue Miller) has recently been fitted.

There is a tonneau cover with the car.

The car performs as it should and handles like it's on rails thanks to significant attention to the suspension set-up and ride heights by Nick Adams. It is shod with correct Michelin XAS tyres, which are fairly recent, expensive, and covered just a handful of miles.

There are no clunks or rattles when driving, and to restate, this isn't your average Elan Sprint.

Price has been set very fairly, there are cars out there for far more, but I would doubt are any better than this one. Certainly worth your time to come and view.

I am selling the car on behalf of the owner. The car is currently in his garage, which is fairly local to me. Any initial inspection would likely take place in his garage.

Export not an issue, see my Global Sales page on my website for details on shipping rates etc.
