LOTUS ELAN S3 1968 LHD FACTORY TYPE 45 DHC RARE SS MODEL FOR RESTORATION GOOD CONDITION
This is a rare very original Series 3 Drop Head Elan. Not many SS models were made. Basically a Series 3 with super safety parts, hence SS. I believe there was 60 to 80 of these made in both left hand and right hand drive. The car was sold new to the USA in the State of Ohio and consequently many of the components are in restorable condition including the chassis. The car has all the major components including the original Lotus engine, factory chassis plate, stamped chassis frame (which is in good condition and restorable). The engine has the MK1 cam cover but has the MK2 cylinder head and 6-bolt block and also correct DCOE 18's Weber carburettors. Also rare and unusual it has bolt-on wheels (5) and Lotus chrome hub caps, Chapman steering wheel, correct tear drop gear knob, correct instruments, good chrome. Also retains an SS badge, World Championship 63-65 badge and Indy 500 badge. Low mileage (19054). Has the original service book, various badges and copy of SS supplement. Would make a lovely car when restored. NOVA certificate supplied and all UK duty and taxes paid. More than happy to assist with UK registration.
