Description
The Model 90 was Sunbeam’s succesfull racing model of the 1920s and remained in the line up in the early 1930s being offered to privateers as the top of the range model, suited for racing. In 1931 the cost of the Model 90 was 90 Pounds against 75 Pounds for the Model 9, so not your ordinary roadster at any rate. By 1933 the Model 90 was replaced by the Model 95 and an era of the twin port 500cc OHV Sunbeam ended.
This magnificent 1932 Sunbeam Model 90 has come from long term ownership. Matching numbers as confirmed in the original UK brown logbook accompanying the motorcycle and just five owners from new with the first owner from 1933-1955.
The Model 90 had a complete engine rebuild done last year (new big end, new mains, new shaft by Alpha Bearings, cam followers build and re profiled by Chris Oddling, new valve guides + springs, new kick start shaft + clutch parts, new chains). All parts and work is backed up by invoices on file. The Model 90 starts first kick and is a pleasure to ride.
The Model 90 is cosmetically in a lovely condition. Not mint condition but very good overall condition. The original (and rare) Pride & Clarke speedo is still mounted as is the original Amal M90 carburettor specific to the Model 90 (you will see M90 stamped on the body of the carburettor).
The Model 90 is ready to be used on the road and comes with a current UK V5 and all EU import tax and fees payed, so registration in the EU is straightforward and without added cost.
