Introduced by Ducati in 2009 as the natural successor to the 1098 and in production until 2012
Lightweight, powerful V-twin engine and good reliability made the model a sales success
The 1198 SP was very much a track-focused machine, featuring a larger aluminium fuel tank, electronic quick shifter, Ohlins front and rear dampers, slipper race clutch, Brembo brakes and Marchesini wheels
