1947 Standard Twelve 'Flying Standard'
Description:
Recently taken in part exchange, this is a rarely seen survivor from the immediate post-war era—a 1947 Standard Twelve, also known as the Flying Standard.
Powered by a 1609cc side-valve four-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, this model shared much of its chassis and bodywork with the larger Standard Fourteen but delivered a more economical driving experience.
This example starts, runs, and drives well, though it has not been on the road for several years. As such, it would benefit from light recommissioning before regular use.
Cosmetically, the car is very presentable throughout. The interior is complete, though the driver’s seat fabric would benefit from some stitching repair.
A charming and increasingly uncommon British saloon from a transitional era in automotive design—bridging pre-war elegance with post-war practicality.
Historic - Tax & MOT exempt.
V5C present.
