Ford Zephyr Mk2 1961
This car has been extensively restored over the last 10 years of my ownership. There is no filler in the bodywork and all of the necessary fabrication has been done professionally. The bare metal paint job was completed about 5 years ago and very recently it has been ceramic coated by Ultra Gloss Detailing, Peterborough.
I’ve mentioned that the paintwork is 5 years old as sometimes poor preparation takes some time to become apparent. No corners were cut on this job and the finish is very good indeed.
The car has been back on the road for a month now and during that time I have driven it around 500 miles and would be confident to drive it anywhere.
Work Carried Out.
New complete sills
New door skins
New metalwork to all remaining panels
Paintwork is base coat and lacquer (7coats)
Seats recovered (original covers in good condition available)
New carpets and door trims
New whitewall tyres
Refurbished Wheels with new hubcaps
New clutch, master and slave cylinder
New stainless exhaust manifold
Refurbished MacPherson struts.
Refurbished Brakes and new master cylinder
Many new chrome parts and re-chromed parts, badges etc.
I’d estimate the cost of buying the car, professional work and parts to be well over £20k. My time easily 1, 000 hours is not costed of course.
The car has been subjected to a through inspection and service and any necessary work carried out.
This list is not exhaustive, but hopefully gives an outline of the extent of the restoration. I am offering the car for sale because I have many other vehicles, mainly American. I’d also be happy to keep it and enjoy it after all of the hard work, at least for a couple of seasons, but time moves on and after 10 years I’ve acquired several American classics that need space and maintenance. This car is at its best and I’d like to see it go to an enthusiastic caring new owner. So if you are a dealer or just want to flip it, please don’t make contact.

ps Rear screen stainless trim and side badges are now fitted. Bought as a 2 year project, but life got in the way and 10 years later it's finished. It's a top quality job and looks fantastic, ready to use and enjoy.
