We present a magnificent English cabriolet from the Jaguar marque. Ten years after the introduction of the first XK, the XK120, and the XK140, Jaguar revealed in May 1957 the ultimate version of the series: the XK150. Its design was softened, and its windscreen is now a single curved plane.
The model we present is a Jaguar XK150 SE (Special Equipment) Cabriolet 4-seater, equipped with the 3. 4 L six-cylinder engine developing 210 horsepower and the overdrive option. This vehicle was delivered new in September 1958 to Paris by the official importer Royal Elysée. It stands out for its exceptional configuration, its impeccable condition and its total conformity to the original numbers and colours or matching numbers and matching colours with its Mist Grey bodywork and interior in red leather. According to Jaguar Heritage archives, this car may have served as a “show car”, probably at the Paris Motor Show in 1958 or 1959. We have a complete and rare history: the last owner received this vehicle as a gift from his father in 1962 and has kept it until today. Thanks to invoices and documents relating to restorations carried out, we can attest to its mileage, an exceptional feature for a vehicle of this age.
The car has always been maintained by professionals. In 1989, it was sent to England to a renowned specialist for a complete restoration of the bodywork and the gearbox. Although this restoration dates back more than 30 years, the current state of the car testifies to the quality of the intervention. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2004 and has covered only 20, 000 km since. Its road manners are impeccable. The red leather upholstery is original and shows a lovely patina. Only the dashboard and the carpets have been recently restored (while preserving the original elements).
A full service has just been completed in our workshops; no additional costs are to be expected to enjoy this superb XK.
