TRIUMPH T100a 500cc 1961 ... a mini Bonneville
!! Attention !! To keep in mind: right-hand gear lever & kick-start! A proper English lady bike!
We get used to both very quickly and that is part of their charm. But if you're not ready it's not worth going further and we would all waste our time.
All of it with receipts:
- New engine 1000 miles (invoice)
- New carburettor
- New tyres, period styling but with a modern compound (Avon!)
- Recent battery
A genuinely easy machine: low, light, starts very well, neutral easy to find.
Royale on country roads at 80/ 90 kph but can venture without issue onto fast roads (or the motorway but that isn't its natural playground).
Mechanically immaculate.
Very, very clean aesthetically, previously restored.
For me, this is the model year with the most beautiful colour combination.
As with all English machines of that era: the small oil drip at rest (very reasonable and the opposite would be worrying!) and a front brake that behaves more like a slow-down device.
The archetype of the English motorcycle without chasing the prices of the T120 Bonneville, which don’t offer much more for a usually double price.
A sure value that doesn’t depreciate and for which 100% of parts are available.
