This early Porsche 911, chassis number 302538, was originally delivered in Light Ivory (6404) and has recently undergone a comprehensive rebuild to Endurance Rally specification by world-renowned Porsche specialists Tuthill Porsche.
This car represents the perfect balance between period authenticity and modern usability, combining the purity of an early short-wheelbase 911 with Tuthill’s unrivalled engineering expertise and attention to detail.
The original 1965 body shell was stripped to bare metal, carefully reinforced where required, and refinished to an excellent standard in its factory-correct Light Ivory. A bolt-in roll cage, painted in body colour, has been fitted to provide additional safety without compromising practicality or ease of access. The car also benefits from an 85-litre long-range fuel tank, cleverly configured to allow space for one spare wheel and luggage, making it ideally suited to long-distance touring or endurance events.
The 2. 0 litre engine has been fully stripped and rebuilt to a reliable and tractable touring specification using PMO carburettors. The engine is paired with a period-correct Porsche 901 five-speed gearbox featuring touring ratios, and a Tuthill Porsche limited-slip differential.
The suspension and running gear have been fully uprated, including Bilstein dampers, FIA specification solid race brake discs, and a competition pedal box. The 6-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, refinished to a high standard, complete the purposeful stance while maintaining the correct period appearance.
Inside, the car features a bespoke Tuthill Porsche wiring loom, with the fuse box neatly housed within the glovebox for ease of access. Further period details such as glass windows throughout, rectangular chrome mirrors on both sides, a wooden dashboard panel, and refinished instruments contribute to the car’s refined and authentic presentation.
Having only been used on a handful of regularity events, this early 911 is a rare opportunity to acquire a Tuthill-prepared endurance rally car built to the highest standards.
