The last of the air-cooled Porsche 911s, the 993 is regarded by purists as the last ‘true 911s’. The 993 Turbo was the first to feature twin turbocharging, 4WD systems (outside the 959), standard on every Turbo since. An icon, ultimately, the 993 was replaced by the water-cooled 996, ending the air-cooled engined cars from 1963.
This is a very rare example, having only done 4, 203 miles with 4 keepers. The car was received by the Porsche Centre in Chiswick before being exported to Brunei. This car received the Dealer Power Pack, potently upping power to 430 bhp and has been well-maintained since 2016-2017.
The reviews of 993 Turbos are often glowing, being a great car to drive and own. With German reliability, it holds up very well for a classic as long as the car is well maintained. To drive, the car gives fantastic grip from the 4-wheel drive system. The twin-turbocharged engine has a good response, despite the turbos. The car handles with the agility of a classic Porsche 911, with added composure thanks to the innovative multilink rear suspension. The brakes have fantastic braking power, and the steering is praised for its excellent feel. With a servo-assisted clutch, the car is much easier to drive than unassisted variants.
In a stunning shade of Arena Red Metallic, the bodywork is presented in immaculate condition, with perfect shut lines and paint depths consistent with factory readings. The black 'ruffled' leather seats and ‘Turbo’ embroidered carpets are in excellent condition. The interior, minus a radio update, is 'as new'. Mechanically, the car is excellent, having completed a full health check with absolutely no advisories.
The car comes with a Driver's Manual, Service Log book and servicing paperwork from 2017. The car comes with a certification of authenticity from Porsche and MOT certificates, manuals for the new radio system, and the V5C.
