1989 Autokraft MkIV Cobra – Jaguar Racing Green / Magnolia Hide – Rare Hardtop – ~22, 000 Miles
An exceptional 1989 Autokraft MkIV Cobra, originally sold new to Mr. P. Harris of Monte Carlo. This striking example is finished in Jaguar British Racing Green, featuring magnolia strip complemented with magnolia hide seats and features rare factory hardtop. Full aluminium body, and longer cockpit designed for taller drivers.
With fewer than 22, 000 miles recorded from new, the car was acquired by the current owner around 2023 after a period of long-term storage. While full early history and precise specification details are limited, the Cobra MkIV Registry confirms this left-hand drive example was built in April 1989 with a 302 HO small-block Ford engine, EFI, and Borg Warner T5 transmission. An archived 2010 auction description notes it had a single owner and 21, 000 miles, closely aligning with the current odometer reading of approximately 22, 000 miles.
Significant works totalling over £12, 000 have been undertaken since purchase to ensure the car is in excellent mechanical condition. This includes:
• New drive shafts
• Suspension rebuild with geometry setup
• Brake overhaul and service
• Engine work including new cylinder heads and correct carburetors
The Autokraft MkIV continues the legendary Cobra lineage. Drawing on the craftsmanship of Brian Angliss’ Cobra Parts operation in the 1970s and 1980s, MkIV Cobras were meticulously built using original tooling and techniques, preserving the spirit and quality of the original AC Cobras. Approximately 400 MkIV Cobras were produced, making this an authentic “continuation” model celebrated for both performance and attention to detail.
This car is now for sale as the current owner has purchased an original period FIA Cobra having experienced this car as a test . An opportunity to acquire a meticulously maintained, continuation Cobra, ready to enjoy.
