Description
When one speaks of classic Italian cars, it is impossible not to mention the magnificent Lancia Aurelia — one of the most famous models of this prestigious marque. Throughout its career, the Aurelia continually evolved, with Lancia engineers regularly introducing new improvements and refinements.
From the B20 Coupé, sporty and streamlined, sprang in the mid-1950s the graceful B24 Spider America. Its maturation gave birth to the B24 ‘Convertible’, more sophisticated — produced in only 521 units, and today particularly sought after.
This Convertible version is reputed to be more practical, without losing any of the elegance of the coachwork designed by Pinin Farina. Under the bonnet, you’ll find the famous 2. 5-litre aluminium V6 developing 118 bhp: a engine appreciated for its suppleness and generous torque, delivering a relaxed and smooth drive.
The B24S is regarded as one of the most elegant convertibles ever built. Its fame transcended the automotive world when it became a movie star in Il Sorpasso (La Vie Facile), Dino Risi’s 1962 masterpiece. A young Vittorio Gassman drives the B24S Convertible there with audacity and panache, turning the Aurelia into a true cultural icon.
Loyal to the Lancisti spirit, the Marreyt Classic Cars team is pleased to present a new example of the B24S Convertible (the ‘S’ for Sinistra, left-hand drive), ready to join a new lucky owner.
This example was assembled in May 1957 and retains its authenticity with matching numbers: chassis No. B24S-1350 paired with engine No. B24-1463. A full restoration was completed in 2013, finished in a restrained Grigio (light grey) that beautifully contrasts with the dark red leather interior. The original hardtop is also provided.
The car comes with Belgian registration documents and the valuable ASI Historic Passport (certificate No. A1234), Gold Plate category.
Here is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most elegant and technically advanced cars of its era.
