Description

The Aston Martin DB6 Vantage MkII was produced between July 1969 and November 1970. With only 45 Vantage MkII models delivered (including 15 Volante cabriolet examples), it is a rare piece of Aston Martin heritage.

Powered by a 4. 0 L inline-six with twin overhead camshafts, this Vantage model develops 325 bhp at 5, 750 rpm, thanks to its three Weber 45 DCOE carburettors. The transmission is handled by a five-speed ZF manual gearbox, with a Girling four-disc servo-assisted brake system, delivering solid performance for its era and a top speed of around 240 km/ h.

The MkII is distinguished by widened wheels (half an inch wider) and wider wheel arches, shared with the DBS to accommodate broader wheels, enhancing grip and stability. Power steering became standard, and the Borg & Beck clutch disc was replaced by a more durable 10. 5-inch unit. The rear suspension used a Salisbury solid axle with a Watt linkage and Armstrong Selectaride adjustable shock absorbers.

Visually, the DB6 MkII stands out for its rounded fenders, fastback silhouette and an elegantly streamlined profile. The interior benefits from redesigned front and rear seats with stitched pleats reminiscent of those of the DBS, adding a touch of added sophistication. The cabin combines traditional luxury with careful ergonomics.

With so few models produced, our DB6 Vantage MkII is extremely rare, and even more sought after in left-hand drive (only 9 LHD Vantage Mk2 were factory-built), making it a highly sought-after model by collectors. Note that our example was right-hand drive and has been converted to left-hand drive.
