Description
Motors corner presents this sublime Aston Martin DB6 MKI from 1966:
Launched in 1965, the Aston Martin DB6 embodies elegance and performance in true British style. Direct heir to the legendary DB4 and DB5, it extends their lineage while asserting its own identity. Designed to offer more comfort and habitability, the DB6 is distinguished by its elongated wheelbase, its fastback silhouette recognisable by its integrated spoiler, and its mechanical refinement. It is equipped with the famous 4. 0‑litre inline-six engine developed by Tadek Marek, delivering up to 325 bhp in its Vantage version.
Our example is in its sublime original body colour “Goodwood Green”, ideally paired with a tan “Natural” interior.
Delivered in England on 7 March 1966 to its first owner, who specified options: Borg-Warner automatic transmission, chromed wire wheels with 3‑ear knock‑offs, Motorola radio, heated rear screen.
This DB6 has benefited from a very high-quality restoration.
Exterior condition:
The aluminium bodywork has been completely restored with perfect panel alignment. The paint in its original Goodwood Green colour shows a flawless finish. The chromework is in perfect condition.
A presentation worthy of concours condition.
Interior condition:
The interior has been restored with authenticity, using premium materials. Beige Connolly leather was used for the trim, and everything is in perfect condition. The seats are fitted with headrests. The beige carpets are in very good condition. The wooden steering wheel is in perfect condition, as is the dashboard. The car is fitted with electric windows.
Mechanical condition:
The mechanicals have been maintained and restored over the car’s life, with a file of maintenance invoices from Aston Martin specialists accompanying the car.
The top end was rebuilt in 2008, in England by a specialist.
The automatic transmission has been replaced by a 5‑speed manual gearbox, adding undeniable driving pleasure to this genuine GT.
