This exceptional 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS is one of only 184 right-hand-drive examples ever produced. Just six RHD cars left Maranello finished in this specification of metallic Argento Auteil Silver with Blue leather.
Painstakingly restored and expertly maintained, this carburettorred 308 GTS offers the opportunity to own a rare Ferrari in excellent condition with superb provenance - One that was owned from new by Tony Banks of the music group Genesis.
In 2016, it underwent a comprehensive restoration by renowned marque specialists GTB Restorations Ltd of Elmswell, Suffolk, at a cost of approximately £46, 000, while paying meticulous attention to originality and authenticity.
The restoration included a full bare-metal respray to a flawless “piano finish” in its original shade of silver, refurbishment of the interior including seat recovering and trim detailing in original materials, full wheel restoration using the correct base coat, and a complete engine rebuild with the fitment of solid race valves.
Further work included replacement of the original Carello headlamps (not the cheap replica versions), rejuvenating the targa roof section with Ferrari-correct vinyl, all while retaining the original Ferrari-labelled windscreen.
The result is a 308 GTS that stands as one of the most correct and beautifully presented examples available today.
Having covered only minimal mileage since the restoration, the car has recently serviced by Grimaldi Engineering including a new cam-belt, ensuring it is mechanically superb and ready for immediate enjoyment.
Accompanying the car is its extensive history file, including the original sales invoice, historic receipts, invoices, and a photographic record of the restoration.
Supplied with a 12-month market-leading extendable warranty, a new no-advisory MOT, and prior to release will be subjected to our rigorous PDI.
