History
The Volkswagen Beetle has a far stranger story than any Hollywood actor. Imagine this: designed in the shadow of Hitler, developed by Ferdinand Porsche, brought back from the rubble by Ivan Hirst of the British Army, propelled to worldwide success by Heinz Nordhoff, and finally adopted by California surfers.
In 1968, the Beetle had overcome its troubled origins. It was no longer Germany’s “people’s car”, but the people’s car everywhere in the world. From Mexico to Manchester, from São Paulo to San Francisco, this little car had become the world’s automotive Esperanto: understood by all, never misunderstood.

We offer a lovely Volkswagen Beetle in a truly fantastic condition.
This Beetle was first delivered new in the Netherlands on 3 April 1968 and now shows 15, 950 kilometres on the clock.
Around 2 years ago, the previous owner took the Beetle in hand and restored it to the condition it’s in today. The car has been resprayed, has new chrome, new seat upholstery, and more besides. It’s the Coccinelle/ Bettle Type with the steel dashboard and a dropped/ wrapped steering wheel. The 1, 300 cm3 engine runs very well, and the gearbox shifts nicely through the gears.
This Beetle is a great, honest car in every sense of the word—you can get in, enjoy driving a proper classic.
