Description
1955 Austin A30, originally built to HRDC 'academy' specifications. It features a 1275cc BMC 'A' series engine built by CMES, and an exhaustive list of other mods. The engine has recently (May 2026) undergone a bottom-end rebuild and is now 1310cc.
The car was completed approximately 4 years ago with the intention to go racing, However, time and family constraints have led to this not happening, presenting an opportunity for someone else to do so!
The car has been built to an incredibly high standard throughout. The shell is totally solid and the body panels are immaculate. The paint finish is exceptional too - way beyond the typical standard for a race car. Inside, the cabin is well trimmed and features a full roll-cage with plumbed-in fire extinguisher and Cobra bucket seat for the driver.
The car is also road registered with a V5 however, so could be enjoyed on the road as well as the track.
The Austin A30 and A35 regularly feature at historic events such as Goodwood. In 2016 the St Mary's Trophy featured no less than thirty A30 and A35's! They are excellent fun and make a superb entry point to historic racing.
