I'm selling my beautiful Citroen BX16TXS Auto as I've just bought myself a BX19TGD and I cant keep both...
There are less than 10 of these left on the road and this is an excellent example with just 51, 374 miles on the clock.
It has original Citroen headlight protectors (like hen's teeth!), Citroen mudguards and a full set of the original Citroen floor mats and hub-caps (in need of some TLC)
It's currently SORNed but has 11 months MOT having just gone through without so much as an advisory.
It was apparently off the road for several years in the past and was bought by a member of the Citroen Car Club (sticker still in the window!) who was a Rolls Royce mechanic. He kept an A4 folder (supplied) with details of EVERY bit of work that he did on the car.
Good Points:
The bodywork is excellent for a car of this age. There are no dents or scrapes.
The car has Michelin Energy tyres all round. Front are good for a year or two, the back have LOADS of tread left on them.
The suspension is smoooooth. It rises and falls beautifully (much better than my current BX which has sticky front legs...)
The Accumulator sphere is about 1000 miles old. Front and rear spheres are good.
Interior is superb. The driver seat has little, if any, sign on wear. Carpets are clean. I'm a non smoker, as was the last owner.
It has the 'X' interior, so it's sporty, firm and very comfortable. Headrests all round.
Electric windows and sunroof are all functional.
The rear spoiler has just had a respray.
Beware those who suggest their BXs have absolutely no problems. They don't exist. I'm not going to do that, so here are what I would consider bad points.
Bad points:
Like many petrol BXs, if not driven regularly, it sometimes needs a little turning over to start. Having said that, in the 2 years I've had it, it's never not-started, even on the coldest mornings.
The ignition barrel has a little wear.
The rear seat has a small mark on it. Looks like a scorch mark. Possibly an old cigarette burn.
Though there are no dents or major scratches, the paintwork is chipped and scratched here and there. Nothing that goes back to the metal, and there are 2 small areas of lacquer-peel (see pics).
I have found my old Haynes BX Petrol manual which I will throw in as well.
Sensible offers considered.
