Motodrome are very pleased to offer this 1956 example of a Series 1 Land Rover 86in Station Wagon, smartly refinished in it’s original Grey with Limestone roof and blue trim.
In seven-seater spec, with 4 individual folding rear seats, freewheel front hubs, working Smiths round heater, and towbar.
An original UK home-market example (still wearing it’s original registration number and with the correct –period 2. 0 engine fitted), the last owner went through it carefully and fitted many new parts to make it eminently usable rather than a trailer queen. We had an interesting telephone conversation with a guy from Yorkshire who recognised it from our website, and who bought it in 1994 from its original owner since 1956, and who was able to offer some interesting insights into it's history. It seems, before it came to us, that it's spent most if not all it's life in Yorkshire.
It’s full of character and on test it performed superbly – it’s my current favourite of all our stock.
