The complex history of Clement-Talbot is familiar to Vintage car
enthusiasts, as the company became part of the Sunbeam -Talbot-Darracq
combine following the cessation of the Great War. Their popular light car -
the 8/ 18, was a particularly successful model and was to be slightly
enlarged from 1923, becoming the 10/ 23. Both these models were at the top
end of the light car market, with efficient OHV engines and front suspension
featuring reversed quarter elliptic springs, which was an advanced system
ensuring good handling and a comfortable ride for this size of car.
The 10/ 23 proved especially popular, with its elegant appearance and economy
of running, allied to brisk performance from its 1100 cc engine which gave a
maximum speed of 55 mph.
In later years, these cars were to become keenly sought as the Vintage
movement gained momentum and today, they are highly regarded in VSCC light
car circles.
A late example, having been first registered on 29th June 1926, this 10/ 23
Tourer has clearly undergone refurbishment some years ago. The interior trim
has recently been renewed in black leather and the weather equipment is
complete and in serviceable condition.
A charming high quality Vintage light car with much character, and representing excellent value, it drives well and feels tight and together on the road. The original Driver's Handbook is supplied.
